Ruth Hellema
Collection: Photography
Ruth seeks to capture and highlight elements of the ordinary world that surrounds us. To interpret these elements visually and artistically, as seen through her eyes and the camera’s lens.
Living in Spain at the time, Ruth’s first photos were of European streets, especially their architecture.
Upon her return to Australia in 2013, she was re-connected with the natural environment and produced a series of fine art flower photographs.
More recently, Ruth has returned to the theme of architecture, mostly from a minimalist perspective. Her photos seek to capture and emphasise the visual aesthetics of building facades: colour, contrast, shape, lines, and texture.
